Senior Software Engineer – QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey

Job Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer with McKinsey Tech & AI in Riyadh, you will drive architectural design and technology decisions for next-generation products across diverse client sectors. You will lead project workstreams, help clients build technical capabilities, and work hands-on with clients and leadership to co-create solutions while fostering engineering best practices and Agile values.

Responsibilities

• Drive architectural design and make strategic technology decisions for next-generation products at scale
• Lead project workstreams and help clients build their technical capabilities
• Foster a culture centered around engineering best practices, user-centricity, and Agile values
• Lead in Agile teams, including coaching and modeling Agile mindsets during sprint ceremonies and work definition
• Work collaboratively with technical and non-technical team members to model and coach engineering best practices such as design patterns, test-driven development, code refactoring, and code review
• Co-create solutions alongside clients and their leadership to enable growth into a recognized technology leader
• Advise clients across various sectors on how to best leverage technology
• Travel to client sites as needed

Requirements

• Undergraduate or master’s degree, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience in software development, with significant full-stack web application development experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with languages and frameworks including JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, Vue, jQuery, Java, Spring, C#, .NET, Node.js, SQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, cloud-native databases, AWS, Azure, GCP, Jenkins, Docker, Circle CI, or Travis
• Experience leading in Agile teams, including coaching and modeling Agile mindsets as part of sprint ceremonies and work definition
• Experience working collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and modeling engineering best practices including design patterns, customer-centric design, test-driven development, code refactoring, code review, and OWASP Top 10 security awareness
• Ability to build developer capabilities within teams
