Senior PreSales Engineer – IT Infrastructure Systems

Job Summary

The Senior PreSales Engineer – IT Infrastructure Systems provides end-to-end technical solutioning for enterprise compute, storage, hyperconverged infrastructure, virtualization, backup, disaster recovery, and hybrid cloud integration. The role gathers client requirements, designs high-availability architectures, prepares RFI/RFP/RFQ responses, and collaborates with Account Managers, OEMs, and Value-Added Distributors to drive deal execution and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide full technical presales support to the Sales team and contribute to achieving enterprise sales targets.
• Gather, analyze, and translate customer technical and business requirements into scalable IT infrastructure solutions.
• Design high-availability, scalable, and cost-effective infrastructure architectures.
• Lead end-to-end completion of RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, including technical bid coordination, discovery workshops, sizing, BoM generation, and compliance matrices.
• Design, coordinate, and oversee Proof-of-Concept activities, benchmarking, and technical demonstrations.
• Maintain strong relationships with IT infrastructure OEMs and local VADs in Saudi Arabia to support pricing, quotation speed, and BoM validation.
• Provide technical enablement and infrastructure product training to internal Sales teams.
• Assist Sales leaders in addressing complex technical objections and closing high-value infrastructure deals.

Must haves

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure presales or solution architecture.
• Deep knowledge of datacenter architecture, high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, and storage topology design.
• Strong workload sizing and performance analysis skills, including IOPS, throughput, compute capacity, and capacity planning.
• Comprehensive understanding of licensing models including per-core, per-socket, capacity-based, and SaaS/subscription models.
• Proven consultative and value-based technical selling capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent field.

Nice to haves

• Certifications such as HPE MASE/ASE, Dell Proven Professional, NetApp NCSA/NCIE, Pure Storage Certified Architect, VMware VCP-DCV/VCAP, Nutanix NCP/NCA, Red Hat Certified Architect, Veeam VMCE, Commvault CVSA, or Cohesity Accredited Solution Architect.
• Cloud certifications including AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or VMware Cloud on AWS.
• Established professional relationships with IT infrastructure OEMs and VADs in Saudi Arabia.
• Experience supporting enterprise and government customers in Saudi Arabia.
