Job Summary
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will handle mechanical design reviews, technical coordination, and multidisciplinary engineering support for large-scale CCGT Power Plants and Solar PV Projects in Amman, Jordan. This role focuses on design and technical tasks rather than site execution.
Responsibilities
- Review and coordinate mechanical engineering designs and deliverables.
- Examine equipment datasheets, technical specifications, and engineering calculations.
- Support technical evaluations of bids and vendor document reviews.
- Collaborate with Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Process Engineering teams.
- Review piping systems, mechanical layouts, and equipment interfaces.
- Ensure adherence to project specifications, EPC requirements, and international standards.
- Participate in design reviews, technical workshops, and engineering coordination meetings.
- Provide technical support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Identify engineering risks and propose practical technical solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Senior Level: 8-12+ years of experience
- Lead Level: 12+ years of experience
- Experience with CCGT Power Plants
- Experience with Utility-Scale Solar PV Projects
- Experience in EPC Projects
- Experience in Industrial or Energy Projects
- Strong technical knowledge of Gas Turbines, HRSG Systems, Balance of Plant (BOP), Cooling Water Systems, HVAC Systems, Fire Fighting Systems, Water Treatment Systems, Pumps & Rotating Equipment, and Piping Systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP
- Familiarity with Navisworks
