Senior Materials Engineer

Job Summary

Egis is seeking a Senior Materials Engineer to oversee material selection, testing, and quality assurance for metro infrastructure projects in Riyadh. You will ensure all materials meet stringent specifications and performance standards while driving efficiency and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and select materials for metro infrastructure projects based on performance requirements, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability
• Conduct material testing and analysis using laboratory equipment and industry-standard methodologies to verify compliance with specifications
• Develop and implement material specifications, testing protocols, and quality control procedures aligned with international standards
• Collaborate with design, construction, and procurement teams to resolve material-related challenges and optimize performance
• Analyze material failure modes and conduct root cause investigations to implement corrective actions
• Manage supplier and vendor relationships to ensure consistent quality and timely material delivery
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and recommendations for stakeholders and management
• Mentor junior engineers and support team development initiatives

Must haves

• 10+ years of professional experience in materials engineering with expertise in material selection, testing, and quality assurance
• Strong knowledge of material properties, behavior, and performance characteristics in construction and infrastructure applications
• Proficiency with materials testing equipment and laboratory procedures, including mechanical and non-destructive testing methods
• Solid understanding of international material standards, codes, and specifications (ASTM, ISO, or equivalent)
• Proven project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on schedule
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail

Nice to haves

• Prior experience on metro, rail, or large-scale infrastructure projects
• Experience with material failure analysis and forensic investigation
• Leadership experience managing technical teams or junior staff
• Familiarity with project management software and tools
