Senior Manager – District Cooling

Job Summary

The Senior Manager – District Cooling will lead the planning, design review, and technical evaluation of district cooling plants and related systems for a major mixed-use development project in Saudi Arabia. This role involves ensuring compliance with standards, coordinating interfaces, and optimizing design and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design review, and technical assessment of District Cooling Plants (DCPs), Thermal Energy Storage (TES) systems, Energy Transfer Stations (ETS), and chilled water networks.
• Review hydraulic modeling, plant sizing, load analysis, and energy optimization strategies for district cooling.
• Ensure adherence to international standards and authority requirements, and assist in developing technical standards and operational strategies.
• Assess centralized and decentralized cooling solutions for technical and commercial viability.
• Coordinate scope interfaces among DCPs, chilled water networks, ETS, power, and utility systems.
• Participate in technical reviews, value engineering workshops, and stakeholder coordination meetings related to district cooling.
• Review master plans and district cooling technical specifications.
• Review and approve concept, schematic, detailed design, and IFC deliverables, leading design optimization and value engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or HVAC Engineering.
• 12 to 15 years of experience in district cooling.
• Strong knowledge of DCPs, TES systems, chilled water networks, hydraulic modeling, and energy performance.
• Experience with large-scale mixed-use developments or city-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience in technical RFPs, specifications, design reviews, and performance validation.
• Strong skills in stakeholder management, technical reporting, and presentations.
