Senior EMC / Hardware Engineer

Job Summary

A hands-on senior hardware design engineer role focused on diagnosing and resolving EMC compliance failures on PoE ports of outdoor wireless radio products. The engineer will redesign isolated PoE power stages and optimize PCB layouts to guide the product through full EMC certification.

Responsibilities

• Analyze EMC failure plots and identify root causes
• Redesign isolated PoE PD converters compliant with IEEE 802.3bt Type 3/4
• Design and tune magnetics including flyback transformers, common-mode chokes, and isolation barriers
• Optimize PCB layout for EMC performance through grounding, isolation, and filter placement
• Reduce conducted emissions on telecom ports using CISPR 32 / EN 55032 with ISN
• Guide the product through full EMC certification and retests
• Collaborate with hardware, RF, and compliance teams to implement fixes quickly

Must haves

• 8+ years of experience designing PoE power stages, solving EMC failures, and shipping telecom or networking hardware through certification
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field; equivalent hands-on design experience considered equally
• Isolated PoE PD converter design compliant with IEEE 802.3bt Type 3 or Type 4
• Flyback topology design and transformer construction expertise
• Common-mode choke selection under DC bias
• PCB layout for EMC performance including grounding, isolation, and filter placement

Nice to haves

• mmWave / 60 GHz / IEEE 802.11ad/ay wireless product experience
• 10GBASE-T PHY experience
• Radiated emissions and immunity testing for outdoor equipment, including ESD and surge
• Availability for immediate start or flexible work arrangements
