Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior DevOps Engineer at Beanz is responsible for managing and improving the platform infrastructure to ensure durability, scalability, security, and reliability under real traffic conditions. This role involves ownership of deployment pipelines, cluster operations, data infrastructure, and automation to enhance platform performance and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage CI/CD pipelines, container images, and environment overlays, maintaining Git as the source of truth for deployments.
• Operate Kubernetes clusters by sizing workloads, tuning autoscaling, and managing node pool capacity.
• Maintain self-hosted databases, caches, streaming systems, and analytics stores, including data ingestion and retention.
• Oversee content delivery networks, object storage, caching rules, invalidation, and TLS management.
• Plan and execute version upgrades and migrations for open-source components with rollback strategies.
• Own backup, retention, and restore processes for self-hosted data stores, ensuring restore drills are effective.
• Maintain monitoring and alerting systems, including metrics, dashboards, log pipelines, and alert rules.
• Participate in on-call rotation and lead incident response, including root cause analysis and fixes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering with scalable, resilient production infrastructure.
• Strong production experience with Kubernetes, including cluster operations and deployment rollouts.
• Hands-on experience with AKS, Kubernetes, Helm, and Kustomize.
• Strong knowledge of major cloud platforms, preferably Azure, including networking, IAM, storage, and service limits.
• Experience with Azure Monitor and Azure Storage services.
• Expertise in CI/CD and GitOps practices, including Argo CD, Jenkins, Docker, Terraform, and Git.
• Experience operating self-hosted data infrastructure and technologies like Apache Druid, Kafka, MongoDB, Redis, and Lakehouse.
• Strong Linux and networking skills, including ingress, DNS, TLS, certificates, proxies, and load balancing.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, and scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and TypeScript.
• Experience managing content delivery and storage including CDN, object storage, Blob Storage, and file shares.

• Experience with Apache Superset.
• JVM tuning for data services.
• FinOps or cloud cost optimization experience with demonstrated cost reductions.
• Contributions to open-source technologies operated by the company.
