Senior Consultant – Fire & Life Safety

Job Summary

The Senior Consultant – Fire & Life Safety at WSP in Riyadh leads fire protection and life safety system consultations for large projects, ensuring compliance with regional and international codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design consultations for fire and life safety systems including detection, alarm, suppression, smoke control, and passive protection for complex projects.
• Ensure compliance of designs and installations with Saudi and international codes through audits and inspections.
• Conduct fire risk assessments and hazard analyses, developing mitigation strategies for major projects.
• Oversee integrated testing and commissioning of fire and life safety systems to meet regulations and design criteria.
• Engage with clients to provide expert advice and maintain satisfaction.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, stakeholders, and government authorities to facilitate project delivery.
• Mentor junior and graduate consultants, promoting knowledge sharing and innovation in fire safety.
• Support business growth by contributing to proposals, attending client meetings, and representing WSP at industry events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field such as Fire Protection, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Architecture.
• 8–10 years of experience in fire life safety/protection engineering consulting.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC 201 and SBC 801) and international codes including UAE, IBC, NFPA, BS.
• Expertise in fire protection design, fire detection and alarm systems, smoke control, risk assessments, and compliance audits.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
