Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable and secure cloud platforms on GCP, focusing on reusable infrastructure and automation to streamline provisioning and application delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage reliable cloud-native platforms on GCP centered around GKE.
• Create reusable platform blueprints and infrastructure modules for standardized self-service provisioning.
• Oversee Kubernetes cluster lifecycle including upgrades, scaling, and resource management.
• Use infrastructure-as-code and platform engineering methods to enhance reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Develop and maintain GitOps pipelines and GitHub Actions workflows with tools like Argo CD or Flux.
• Implement policy-driven deployments and automated guardrails using OPA/Gatekeeper and Kyverno.
• Automate operations and improve developer experience through scripting in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes networking, ingress, service discovery, and traffic management, including gateways and service mesh technologies such as Istio, NGINX, and HAProxy.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in cloud, platform, or infrastructure engineering.
• Extensive hands-on experience with GCP and Kubernetes, including production use of GKE.
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane.
• Experience with GitOps tools (Argo CD/Flux) and GitHub Actions/Workflows.
• Knowledge of policy-as-code tools such as OPA/Gatekeeper or Kyverno.
• Skills in Python, Bash, or Go for automation and tooling development.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, gateways, Linux, and distributed systems.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and independently manage technical projects.
• Experience creating reusable infrastructure modules, platform blueprints, or developer self-service features.

Nice to haves

• Experience with MLOps, AI infrastructure, GPU workloads, and Kubernetes-based AI platforms.
• Exposure to OCI or AWS in multi-cloud environments.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or Datadog.
