Senior Cloud Engineer – GCP

Job Summary

The Senior Cloud Engineer – GCP is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing secure, scalable, highly available, and resilient cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role requires hands-on expertise in GCP infrastructure, Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Terraform, cloud networking, security, and Windows/Linux system administration.

Responsibilities

• Design, provision, configure, and manage scalable and highly available infrastructure on GCP, including Google Compute Engine (GCE) and related services.
• Design and implement cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices, developing and maintaining reusable modules.
• Deploy, configure, operate, scale, upgrade, and troubleshoot Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters and manage Kubernetes workloads.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux and Windows Server environments supporting cloud workloads.
• Design and manage GCP networking components, including VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, routing, DNS, VPNs, and load balancing.
• Implement and manage Google Cloud IAM, service accounts, roles, permissions, and access controls with cloud security best practices.
• Configure monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions; design backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions for critical workloads.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, Kubernetes, and production issues; participate in incident management and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Compute Engine, and related infrastructure services.
• Proven experience designing, provisioning, and automating cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Hands-on production experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Kubernetes.
• Strong Windows Server and Linux administration skills.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, security, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture, high availability, scalability, resilience, and operational best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience supporting business-critical applications and resolving complex production infrastructure incidents.
