Senior Android Engineer (Saudi National)

Job Summary

The Senior Android Engineer will join the Riyadh team to develop and deliver high-quality Android applications, contributing both individually and collaboratively to the product development process.

Responsibilities

• Stay updated with the latest software development methodologies to deliver top-tier software solutions.
• Analyze product requirements to understand engineering needs, assess technical feasibility, estimate effort, and collaborate with the Product Team on solutions.
• Develop and manage programming components to accurately transform requirements into functional software.
• Document coding processes to ensure clarity and ease of future maintenance.
• Write unit, integration, and UI/Snapshot tests.
• Identify and fix bugs through patches and other methods.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to colleagues.
• Conduct functional and module testing to verify solution functionality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience with strong knowledge of design patterns and algorithms; Kotlin preferred, Java accepted.
• Expertise in native Android development with a technology-agnostic approach.
• Experience delivering high-quality, testable code using modern mobile architectures.
• Deep understanding of Android lifecycle components (Activities, Fragments) and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Proven impact on complex systems and engineering excellence; open-source contributions and publications are a plus.
• Strong project prioritization, multitasking skills, and proficiency with Git version control.
• Familiarity with Modern Android Development (MAD) tools such as ViewModel, LiveData, Paging, Navigation, SafeArgs, Retrofit2, RxJava2, and multi-module Dagger2.
• Passion for elegant design and modular architecture; experience with native iOS or Flutter is highly desirable.
• Understanding of modular app architecture and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to design and implement scalable and maintainable modules.
• Knowledge of AI tools, APIs, and machine learning integration in mobile apps.
• Experience with both Android and iOS platforms.
• Experience with Firebase, Google Maps API, Fastlane automation, and Checkout.com SDK is a plus.
