SATCOM O&M Support

Job Summary

Support the day-to-day maintenance and operation of assigned satellite communication terminals at Site 2 in Jordan. This role requires expertise in tactical and commercial satellite communication equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate assigned satellite communication terminals on a daily basis
• Operate satellite modems, redundancy switches, up converters, down converters, high power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, and related equipment
• Work with antenna systems including antenna motors, solid state power amplifiers, antenna control units, and associated cabling
• Maintain HVAC units, uninterruptible power supplies, and generators as applicable
• Prepare technical documentation for SAR, GAR, TSR, and ASI requests
• Use test measurement and diagnostic equipment including power meters, spectrum analyzers, Firebird testers, and volt meters

Must haves

• Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance (Interim Secret Clearance acceptable)
• US Citizenship required
• Meet applicable DCWF DoD 8140 requirements for 411-Technical Support Specialist, Basic role through approved certifications, education, military training, or combination thereof
• Minimum two years of experience supporting installation, repair, troubleshooting, or maintenance of satellite communications electronic systems or equipment
• Minimum two years of experience operating in a tactical satellite environment including antenna controllers, SSPA, LNA/LNB, up/down converters, fiber optic, coax, Ethernet cables, FDMA and TDMA modems, and modem hub operations
• Experience and proficiency with commercial and military satellite TDMA/FDMA modems

Nice to haves

• Associate’s degree in Electronics
• Qualifying DoD 8140 certifications such as A+, Network+, or other approved higher-level certifications aligned to the assigned work role
• Seven total years of recent specialized experience with certification
• Eleven total years of recent specialized experience
