SAP Integration PI/PO Specialist

Job Summary

Support the development, configuration, and maintenance of integration interfaces between SAP and non-SAP systems under senior consultant guidance. Build hands-on experience in interface development, mapping, and monitoring across PI/PO platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and deploy integration interfaces using SAP PI/PO components including Integration Directory, ESR, and Adapter Engine.
  • Build and configure interfaces connecting SAP and non-SAP applications using IDoc, SOAP, REST, RFC, and File adapters.
  • Develop basic to intermediate message mappings between source and target data structures.
  • Handle data format transformation across XML, IDoc, and flat file formats.
  • Monitor interface execution and identify failed or stuck messages using PI/PO monitoring tools.
  • Perform first-level troubleshooting of interface errors and escalate complex issues to senior team members.
  • Execute unit testing of developed interfaces and support SIT/UAT activities.
  • Document interface configurations, mapping logic, and test results.

Must haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 1–5 years of hands-on or supporting experience with SAP PI/PO.
  • Working knowledge of SAP PI/PO components: Integration Directory and ESR/Integration Repository.
  • Familiarity with common adapters: IDoc, SOAP, REST, RFC, and File.
  • Basic to intermediate experience with Message Mapping.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving mindset.

Nice to haves

  • Exposure to Java/ABAP Mapping.
  • Exposure to SAP CPI and BTP (Cloud Integration).
  • Basic familiarity with SAP S/4HANA or ECC landscapes.
  • Any SAP integration-related training or certification.
