Job Summary
This role involves designing, building, operating, and enhancing Red Hat-based platforms in on-premises, hybrid, and public cloud settings. It is a hands-on, client-facing position based in Amman that combines platform engineering, architecture, automation, reliability, and governance.
Responsibilities
- Architect and deploy Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform across on-premises data centers and public cloud, including multi-cluster and hybrid setups.
- Design and manage RHEL standard operating environments with hardened images, patching baselines, and lifecycle management using Red Hat Satellite.
- Create infrastructure automation using Ansible Automation Platform and GitOps tools like Argo CD and OpenShift GitOps.
- Design platform services such as ingress, service mesh, API gateway integration, container registries, secrets management, and certificate lifecycle.
- Define hybrid connectivity, workload placement, and business continuity and disaster recovery strategies aligned with client needs.
- Support production platform operations including cluster upgrades, capacity management, performance tuning, and incident/problem management.
- Implement observability with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenShift monitoring and logging, integrating with enterprise SIEM and ITSM tools.
- Develop operational runbooks, automated remediation, and transition materials for client operations teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, cloud engineering, or solution architecture with hands-on Red Hat OpenShift delivery and operations.
- Strong knowledge of RHEL, OpenShift, Ansible Automation Platform, and Red Hat Satellite.
- Experience supporting hybrid environments combining on-premises infrastructure and at least one public cloud platform such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Solid Kubernetes knowledge including networking, storage, role-based access control, and admission control.
- Experience applying security, risk, audit, or compliance controls in enterprise or regulated environments.
- Understanding of API and microservices security patterns including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and mTLS.
- Automation and scripting skills using Ansible, Bash, or Python; Terraform knowledge is advantageous.
- Strong communication, structured problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience; Red Hat certifications are strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic is advantageous.
Nice to haves
- Experience with Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management, Advanced Cluster Security, OpenShift Service Mesh, Quay, or OpenShift Virtualization.
- Knowledge of private cloud technologies such as Red Hat OpenStack Platform.
- Experience with API management platforms on OpenShift like 3scale, Apigee, Kong, or Azure API Management.
- Cloud or architecture certifications including Azure, AWS, Red Hat, or TOGAF.
