Rack SW AI Infrastructure Management, UI, Orchestration & Lifecycle Management & Networking Engineer

Job Summary

Qualcomm is seeking Senior and Staff Software Engineers to develop and operate rack management software for AI accelerator products in large-scale data centre environments. The role focuses on implementing, testing, and maintaining infrastructure software responsible for provisioning, monitoring, orchestration, and lifecycle management of rack-scale AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Implement, test, and maintain software solutions for rack provisioning, monitoring, and workload deployment
• Interface with rack hardware (BMC, PDU, CDU, PCIe switches) using Redfish, SNMP, and IPMI protocols
• Integrate rack management software with orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and Foreman
• Develop dashboards and unified telemetry pipelines using Prometheus and Grafana
• Support firmware updates, crash dump parsing, and remote diagnostics across rack components
• Ensure secure boot, VLAN separation, and QoS enforcement for multi-tenant environments
• Debug and perform root-cause analysis of complex issues across development, integration, and production environments
• Collaborate with architects, lead engineers, hardware, firmware, and platform teams to ensure correct system behavior and smooth integration

Must haves

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience in infrastructure software development
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and shell scripting
• Experience with Redfish APIs and DCIM tools
• Understanding of server hardware, networking, and storage systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working in a multi-site, globally distributed team

Nice to haves

• Experience with Node.js and Rack Management tools
• Knowledge of AI workload orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and RKE2
• Experience with Prometheus and Grafana
• Familiarity with Foreman, Ansible, Chef, Puppet for provisioning and configuration, and working knowledge of GoLang
