Quality Engineer (QE+Coding)

Job Summary

A Quality Engineer role focused on building and maintaining automated test suites across the full stack. You’ll write real code for testing, perform white-box testing by reading source code, and partner with engineers to catch quality gaps early.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated test suites in JavaScript covering end-to-end browser tests, API, and integration testing.
• Write reusable test frameworks, utilities, and helpers rather than throwaway scripts.
• Perform white-box testing by reading code and understanding system internals to target tests where risk exists.
• Test across the stack including React front ends, Node.js services, and PostgreSQL databases.
• Write and debug SQL to validate data, reproduce issues, and check system state.
• Automate browser flows using Selenium while maintaining suite speed, stability, and reliability.
• Integrate tests into CI pipelines to run quality checks on every change.
• Investigate test failures, isolate root causes, and file precise, reproducible reports.

Must haves

• 2+ years building automated tests for web applications.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills with ability to write clean, maintainable code.
• Hands-on Selenium experience for browser automation.
• Working knowledge of React and Node.js sufficient to test from the inside.
• Comfortable with PostgreSQL and writing SQL for validation and debugging.
• White-box testing mindset and strong problem-solving and debugging instincts.

Nice to haves

• API testing experience with REST or GraphQL.
• CI/CD experience such as GitHub Actions.
• Performance or load testing experience.
• Experience with event-driven systems like Kafka or containers like Docker and Kubernetes.
