Read this first
This is a hands on design role. You take site and homeowner data and turn it into accurate, efficient, permit ready solar designs that go straight into real installations.
Two things decide whether this role works for you. You need to be genuinely comfortable working US hours from Jordan, so your day starts in the afternoon. And your English needs to be strong enough to work with US based sales and operations teams every single day, not occasionally.
What you will do as a PV Design Engineer
- Design residential PV systems based on site conditions, home layout and energy usage
- Create system layouts, stringing plans and single line diagrams (SLDs)
- Prepare complete permit ready design packages
- Select the right modules, inverters, mounting systems and batteries
- Run shading analysis and production simulations using tools such as HelioScope, PVsyst or similar
- Make sure every design complies with NEC and the applicable US and local requirements
- Work with the US based sales and operations teams across the whole project lifecycle
What we are looking for
Please apply if you strongly match the following:
- Fluent English is a must. You will work directly with US based teams and clients every day
- At least 2 years of hands on residential solar PV design experience
- Solid understanding of solar PV systems and electrical fundamentals
- Experience preparing residential solar layouts and permit ready design packages
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, HelioScope, SketchUp, PVsyst or similar design tools
- Understanding of NEC and US residential solar requirements is highly preferred
- Strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage several projects at the same time
- Able to work US hours, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM Amman time, from Jordan
