PV Design Engineer

Job Summary

The PV Design Engineer leads the technical design and implementation of renewable energy projects including PV solar, substations, and BESS for various clients, managing projects from concept to commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Design complete PV systems including string length, cable sizing, protection selection, and energy yield assessments.
• Prepare layouts for rooftop and ground-mounted PV systems covering cable runs, mounting structures, walkways, electrical panels, and inverters.
• Create professional electrical drawings, layouts, and single-line diagrams suitable for construction.
• Lead the development and review of Functional Design Specifications based on client needs and tender documents.
• Collaborate with teams to develop system requirements and proposals responding to client RFPs.
• Oversee installation, evaluation, and maintenance of PV and BESS systems including electrical panels and monitoring stations.
• Lead site inspection, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities, supporting SCADA and automation system commissioning.
• Ensure designs comply with local regulations, codes, and international standards, and conduct system performance analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 3-5 years experience in Solar PV project design, setup, and implementation.
• Proven experience delivering PV projects from design through site execution.
• Expert knowledge of electrical power system calculations, protection, safety, and design.
• Strong skills in cable sizing, circuit breakers, and protection systems.
• Understanding of grid connection requirements and international standards such as IEC and IEEE.
• Ability to analyze system performance including PR, losses, and efficiency.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD for electrical drawings and PVsyst for energy yield assessment.
• Fluency in Arabic and English (minimum High B2 / C1 level).
• Willingness to travel to project sites within Jordan and the region, with a valid driver’s license and vehicle.
