Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

Lead development teams to design and deliver enterprise-grade software solutions while shaping clients’ tech strategies and mentoring their teams. Work hands-on to architect, design, and deliver solutions while influencing C-level decisions across industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple development teams in designing and delivering enterprise-grade software solutions
• Define short- and long-term technology strategies for clients
• Partner with cross-functional teams to solve complex business challenges
• Mentor client teams to adopt best practices and engineering best practices
• Establish metrics and KPIs to drive alignment and ensure success of engineering-powered solutions
• Work directly with C-level leaders to influence strategic decisions
• Lead the design and delivery of innovative technology solutions that transform businesses
• Coach and model Agile mindsets as part of sprint ceremonies and developer capability building

Requirements

• Undergraduate or master’s degree, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience in software development and architecture with demonstrated track record of understanding business requirements and designing effective solutions
• Active in tech community through open-source contributions, conference speaking, blogging, or similar
• Hands-on experience across full application stack with languages/frameworks including JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, Vue, jQuery, Java, Spring, C#, .NET, Node.js, SQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, cloud-native databases, AWS, Azure, GCP, Jenkins, Docker, Circle CI, or Travis
• Engineering practice experience including code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, continuous integration, building highly scalable applications, and application security
• Experience leading in Agile teams, including coaching and modeling Agile mindsets
• Experience writing unit tests with major frameworks such as Karma, JUnit, NUnit, or MSTest, and practicing test-driven development
• Exceptional time management in complex and largely autonomous work environments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and local office language(s), with ability to adjust style to different perspectives and seniority levels
• Experience working collaboratively with technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders
