Principal Engineer – Wet Utilities

Job Summary

Lead the design and implementation of Wet Utilities projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry standards. Serve as the primary point of contact for major projects while mentoring junior engineers and driving successful delivery of complex infrastructure initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of Wet Utilities across projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships as the primary point of contact for major projects
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
• Prepare and review technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for compliance
• Manage project budgets, resources, and schedules with regular status reports to senior management
• Prepare calculations and design documentation for Wet Utilities systems
• Create designs using Civil 3D software in BIM environment
• Support senior engineers and project leaders in delivering infrastructure project outcomes

Must haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Wet Utilities with proven track record leading complex projects
• Extensive experience in design of Potable Water, Sewer, Storm, Irrigation, District cooling, and Firefighting systems
• Working knowledge of EPANET, WaterCAD, InfoWorks, SewerCAD, StormCAD and SWMM software
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations

Nice to haves

• Master’s degree in engineering
• Experience with ArcGIS, MicroStation, MicroDrainage, and HAMMER
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
