Job Summary
Jacobs seeks an experienced Planning Engineer to support the delivery of major Sewage Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant, and District Cooling Plant projects. The role involves developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules across all project phases while collaborating with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, including baseline schedules, Work Breakdown Structures, and milestone schedules.
- Monitor project progress against approved baseline schedules and perform critical path analysis to identify delays and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, S-curves, manpower histograms, resource reports, and project dashboards for management and clients.
- Identify schedule risks, develop mitigation strategies, and conduct schedule impact assessments for scope changes and project variations.
- Coordinate with project controls and cost teams to align schedule and budget objectives, and support progress measurement and cash flow forecasting.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams to communicate schedule risks and ensure timely achievement of contract milestones.
- Develop engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning schedules with established activity sequences and logic links.
- Perform delay analysis, Extension of Time evaluations, and what-if scenario analysis for recovery planning.
Must haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in planning, scheduling, and project controls.
- Minimum 5 years of GCC/Middle East regional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on STP, WWTP, District Cooling Plant, or similar utility infrastructure projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
- Expertise in Critical Path Method, Earned Value Management, Resource Loading, and Schedule Risk Analysis.
Nice to haves
- Knowledge of Power BI and Primavera Risk Analysis.
- Experience in delay analysis, claims support, and performance reporting.
- Proven experience in EPC and infrastructure project environments.
