Networks Engineering Director

Job Summary

Lead network engineering strategy, architecture, and technology evolution across mobile, fixed, IP, and core networks. Drive transformation initiatives, capacity planning, and innovation adoption including 5G, cloud-native architectures, and AI-driven optimization while managing vendor relationships and CAPEX investments.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain multi-year network engineering strategy aligned with business objectives, customer growth, regulatory obligations, and Orange Group guidelines
• Own target network architecture and technical standards across all network domains, ensuring scalable, secure, and cost-efficient designs
• Lead traffic forecasting, capacity planning, and technology evolution to ensure network readiness and service quality
• Establish engineering strategies to improve network quality, availability, performance, and customer experience
• Lead adoption of new technologies including 5G, fixed broadband evolution, cloud-native architectures, automation, orchestration, and AI-driven network optimization
• Drive network automation, AIOps, predictive analytics, and intelligent engineering initiatives to improve efficiency
• Lead annual CAPEX planning, investment roadmaps, and technology business cases with ROI discipline
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering organization with clear accountability and succession planning

Must haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical engineering domain
• Minimum 12–15 years of relevant telecommunications experience
• Minimum 5 years in senior leadership roles within Network Engineering, Technology Strategy, Architecture, or related domains
• Proven experience across mobile, fixed, IP, transmission, core, and service platforms
• Technical experience in at least 50% of: Mobile Networks (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G), Fixed Networks and Broadband Access, IP/Core/Transport/Transmission Networks, Network Architecture and Strategy, Capacity Planning and Investment Management, Network Performance and Quality of Service
• Strong experience in large-scale transformation programs, technology modernization, and cross-functional delivery

Nice to haves

• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Technology Management, Business Administration, or equivalent
• Experience with Network Automation, AIOps, AI-enabled Network Operations, and Telecommunication Analytics
• Cloud-Native Network Functions (CNF), Virtualization, and Telco Cloud experience
• Security-by-Design, Cybersecurity Governance, Vendor Strategy, and Orange Group governance frameworks
