Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer

Job Summary

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer will support monitoring, evaluation, reporting, data collection, documentation, and learning activities to ensure accurate and timely information management and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, verify, and organize monitoring data and supporting documents from technical teams, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain indicator tracking sheets, monitoring databases, and reporting records.
  • Follow up with teams and stakeholders to gather required data and reporting inputs on schedule.
  • Track progress against work plans, indicators, and targets, identifying any missing information or delays.
  • Assist in preparing institutional, programme, project, and donor reports including tables, summaries, charts, and presentations.
  • Manage reporting trackers, calendars, submission records, and supporting documentation.
  • Organize and file monitoring, evaluation, and reporting records according to procedures.
  • Support evaluations, assessments, reviews, surveys, and learning activities by collecting and organizing relevant information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Information Management, or related field.
  • Professional training in monitoring and evaluation, results-based management, data management, or reporting is an asset.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, reporting, data management, programme support, or project administration.
  • Experience in data collection, reporting, documentation, and records management.
  • Experience supporting donor-funded programmes or development projects is desirable.
  • Experience working with government institutions, civil society organizations, international organizations, or development partners is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, reporting, data collection, and records management processes.
  • Familiarity with results-based management and performance monitoring principles.
  • Strong skills in collecting, verifying, analyzing, and organizing information from multiple sources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and electronic document management systems.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and verbal.
  • Good organizational, communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.
