Mid-Level QA Automation Engineer

Job Summary

Validate core functionalities, integrations, and security of a data science and AI inferencing platform. Design test cases, develop automation scripts, verify data flows between microservices, and ensure services like JupyterHub, ticketing systems, and CI/CD pipelines function seamlessly and securely.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and execute comprehensive test cases for complex workflows including cluster creation, resource allocation, and notebook integration.
• Develop, maintain, and extend automated test suites using Playwright Python for UI automation.
• Conduct integration testing to verify data flow, component communication, and dependency handling between ticketing systems, service allocation engines, and JupyterHub or NotebookLLM.
• Perform security testing including validation of authentication/authorization mechanisms, role-based access control (RBAC), API endpoint vulnerabilities, and secure communication protocols.
• Execute detailed testing of REST APIs and validate data integrity within Postgres databases.
• Conduct manual exploratory, functional, and regression testing as needed.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Log and track bugs in JIRA with clear and reproducible steps, prepare test execution reports, and collaborate with product and development teams.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional experience in software quality assurance.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright, with TypeScript preferred.
• Proficiency in writing SQL queries for Postgres and testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman.
• Understanding of basic web security fundamentals including OWASP Top 10, JWT authentication, OAuth, and access control.
• Experience working with GitLab, Artifact Registry, and containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes basics).
• Good knowledge of AI systems development, basic AI concepts, and familiarity with data science tools like JupyterHub.
• Familiarity with other automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, pytest, TestNG, or JUnit.
