Lead Software Engineer (Python)

Job Summary

CFI Financial Group is seeking a Backend Technical Lead (Python) to develop backend solutions, define technical specifications, and lead code quality initiatives within a dynamic trading and finance team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to develop features and new products
• Develop solutions aligned with specified business requirements
• Define and document technical specifications, including technology selection and coding standards
• Present implementations to team leaders, heads, and CTO
• Implement unit and integration tests
• Ensure software meets quality, security, modifiability, and extensibility requirements
• Participate in code reviews to identify anti-patterns and refactoring opportunities
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• BSc in Computer Science or related field
• Minimum 4+ years of software development and coding experience in Python
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Technical Lead
• Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture
• Technical mindset with strong attention to detail
• Understanding of software quality assurance principles
• Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes
• Experience with service-oriented architecture (SOA)
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar message brokers
• Experience developing microservices and managing containerized applications
• Experience building websockets
• Experience with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm)
• Proficiency with version control and continuous integration tools such as Git and Jenkins
• Understanding of web security standards and best practices
• PHP experience is considered an advantage
