Job Summary

Parsons seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to oversee mechanical systems development for projects involving judicial branch facilities. The role encompasses developing policies, standards, and inspection procedures while coordinating with plumbing, fire protection, and electrical engineering disciplines to ensure compliance with standards and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of mechanical systems for projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
• Manage mechanical project aspects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with other disciplines and stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance on mechanical systems design, installation, and operation, resolving complex engineering challenges.
• Ensure quality and integrity of mechanical designs and installations through reviews, inspections, and testing protocols.
• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers, fostering professional growth and maintaining high performance standards.
• Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to procure mechanical equipment and materials per specifications and schedules.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
• Serve as primary client contact for mechanical systems, addressing concerns and providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Must haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 14+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with focus on construction oversight.
• Mastery of engineering software tools including AutoCAD, Revit, and MEP modeling software.
• ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills.

Nice to haves

• Professional certificate in MMUP Engineer Registration (UPDA).
• Experience in stadium or large public venue projects.
• Experience in PMC roles.
• Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and standards governing mechanical systems.
