Job Summary
The Junior Engineer – Testing & Commissioning will support the execution of commissioning activities for Solar PV plants and Substations. The role involves hands-on testing, verification of electrical systems, and ensuring all equipment is commissioned safely and in compliance with project specifications and standards.
Responsibilities
- Support the Commissioning Manager/Lead in executing T&C activities at site
- Perform testing and commissioning of Solar PV systems and Substation equipment including MV & LV Switchgear, Power & Auxiliary Transformers, CTs, VTs, and Circuit Breakers
- Commission Inverters, SCADA systems, and associated PV equipment
- Conduct AC/DC scheme checks for switchgear and control panels
- Carry out primary and secondary injection testing for protection systems
- Operate testing equipment such as relay test kits, insulation testers, and multimeters
- Prepare and maintain test reports, commissioning documentation, and update as-built drawings
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE and site safety procedures
Requirements
- Ability to understand and verify control logic, interlocks, and protection schemes
- Capability to assist in major testing activities like stability tests and sensitivity checks
- Support troubleshooting and rectification of electrical and control issues
- Knowledge of MV & LV cables commissioning
