IT Application Support (Python)

Job Summary

This role involves providing backend application support with a focus on Python, ensuring system stability, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating on feature development within a trading environment.

Responsibilities

• Support backend systems to maintain high availability and stability with prompt issue resolution.
• Investigate and resolve backend problems working alongside development and infrastructure teams.
• Work with team members and stakeholders to develop new features and products.
• Create solutions based on business requirements.
• Write technical specifications including technology choices and workflows adhering to coding standards.
• Present implementations to leadership including team leaders, heads, and the CTO.
• Implement Unit and Integration Tests.
• Ensure software quality, security, modifiability, and extensibility standards are met.

Must haves

• BSc in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong Python knowledge for backend troubleshooting and support.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of software and application architecture, especially microservices and SOA.
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD processes.
• Knowledge of web security standards and best practices.

Nice to haves

• Knowledge of PHP.
• Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar messaging systems.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm.
• Experience implementing Unit and Integration Tests and strong problem-solving skills.
