Head of Engineering

Job Summary

Lead the technical delivery and design engineering management of a metro station project in Riyadh as Head of Engineering. You will oversee design and engineering activities, manage the engineering team, and coordinate with the D&B Contractor and construction supervision throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Act as PMCM representative for Design and Engineering, ensuring development and assurance of the design brief and compliance with client technical requirements.
• Foster integration of design and engineering disciplines through cross-functional leadership.
• Monitor engineering team performance and implement continuous learning and improvement initiatives.
• Oversee D&B Contractor performance in design and engineering to deliver innovative, safe, and value-for-money solutions.
• Provide technical expertise and people management to guide the engineering team in project delivery.
• Advise the Project Director and Client representatives on project delivery strategy.
• Hire, onboard, lead, mentor, and evaluate engineers and technical staff responsible for engineering management and design review.
• Manage the engineering budget and programme to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.

Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of experience in design and engineering management or project delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
• Professional registration or chartership (PMP, RICS, PE, CEng, or equivalent) preferred.
• Proven experience as a technical leader supporting technical delivery.
• Demonstrated engineering management experience on multi-disciplinary railway, light rail, or iconic building complex projects with emphasis on design coordination.
• Expertise in system integration, assurance, and whole asset lifecycle in major or complex transport and infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing complex stakeholder groups with diverse requirements internally and externally.
• Experience working in KSA or wider Middle East region preferred.
• Talented people manager with line and performance management experience.
