GIS Specialist (Saudi National)

Job Summary

The GIS Specialist will manage Geographic Information Systems using ESRI platforms to support the planning, design, construction, and handover phases of the Qiddiya Project in Riyadh. The role involves data integration, spatial analysis, quality assurance, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with project standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage and operate the ESRI GIS platform, implementing policies and procedures for geospatial data standardization.
• Review and integrate GIS submittals from consultants and contractors into the Client’s GIS platform, ensuring compatibility with BIM and CAD.
• Perform spatial analyses and create maps and dashboards using ArcGIS Online/Enterprise to aid decision-making.
• Validate GIS data accuracy, maintain metadata, and document workflows in Aconex according to Qiddiya standards.
• Coordinate with delivery partners, design consultants, and stakeholders for GIS-related permitting and interface management.
• Provide GIS deliverables supporting master planning, regulatory approvals, and project handover aligned with the Integrated Master Programme.
• Align GIS workflows with other delivery partners’ systems and suggest improvements to tools like Fuzor or Autodesk Vault.
• Mentor GIS technicians and train Client staff and contractors on GIS best practices.

Must haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of GIS experience, preferably in urban development or mega-projects.
• Expertise in ESRI platforms including ArcGIS Pro, Online, and Enterprise.
• Experience with BIM/CAD integration and projects in the GCC region.
• Saudi national only.

Nice to haves

• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and SQL for automation and database management such as PostgreSQL.
• Advanced skills in cartography, spatial data formats, and BIM/CAD integration.
• Strong English communication skills; Arabic is a plus.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot GIS data and software issues.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Aconex, and Client IT systems including Primavera P6.
