GIS Data Expert

Job Summary

This role involves converting, cleansing, validating, and assuring the quality of GIS data, focusing on utilities and infrastructure as-built drawings to create accurate Enterprise GIS datasets. The candidate will collaborate with GIS teams, stakeholders, and clients to maintain data integrity and support GIS data transformation projects.

Responsibilities

• Convert utilities and infrastructure as-built drawings into structured GIS datasets.
• Extract, transform, cleanse, and prepare data for Enterprise GIS environments.
• Ensure datasets comply with GIS data models, standards, and specifications.
• Perform comprehensive GIS data validation and quality assurance activities.
• Identify and resolve spatial, attribute, topology, and connectivity issues.
• Validate network connectivity and spatial/topological rules.
• Work with utilities, infrastructure, and land GIS datasets, understanding spatial relationships and network structures.
• Develop and automate GIS data transformation and ETL workflows using Python, ArcGIS ModelBuilder, and/or FME.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in utilities and infrastructure as-built conversion to GIS.
• Strong experience in GIS data extraction, conversion, cleansing, validation, and QA/QC.
• Experience with Enterprise GIS environments and Esri ArcGIS ecosystem, especially ArcGIS Pro and Enterprise Geodatabases.
• Knowledge of GIS topology, network connectivity, and validation rules.
• Native Arabic speaker with professional English proficiency.
• Ability to join as soon as possible due to urgency.
• Experience with Python, ArcGIS ModelBuilder, and/or FME for GIS data automation preferred.
• Understanding of enterprise geodatabase design including feature classes, relationships, domains, subtypes, topology, and network data structures.
• Esri-related GIS certifications and professional GIS or Geomatics certifications preferred.
