Job Summary

The Fraud Risk Analyst at Tamara supports the second line of defense by managing fraud governance, regulatory coordination, risk assessments, and reporting. The role involves analyzing data, investigating fraud cases, and ensuring compliance with fraud controls without operating first line controls.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Tamara’s Fraud Framework focusing on investigations, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Analyze transactional and operational data using SQL or analytical tools to identify trends and control weaknesses.
  • Prepare evidence, documentation, and reports for internal governance and regulatory submissions.
  • Support fraud risk assessments, control testing, and follow-up on issues or enhancements.
  • Maintain fraud policies and procedures to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Work with Fraud Operations to validate case resolutions, identify patterns, and suggest control improvements.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years experience in fraud risk, risk & control, internal audit, compliance, or second-line/assurance roles, preferably in fintech, banking, or payments.
  • Experience with fraud analytics, data analysis, or SQL for case validation and trend detection.
  • Strong investigative and problem-solving abilities to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with SAMA’s Counter-Fraud Framework (CFF) or similar regulatory standards is advantageous.
  • Educational background in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical fields preferred.
  • High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and integrity in handling confidential information.
  • Understanding of the three-lines-of-defense model and the independence between First and Second Line.
  • Proficiency in working with fraud/loss data, building management information, and producing KRI dashboards using Excel/Sheets; SQL skills are a strong plus.
  • Excellent written English skills for drafting committee papers, regulatory responses, and clear documentation.
  • Strong ownership of deadlines and ability to coordinate actions across multiple teams.
