Forward Deployed Engineer, Agentic Platform

Job Summary

Build and deploy production-grade LLM-powered agents for enterprise customers at Cohere. You will work directly with clients to translate complex business problems into agentic workflows, design and deliver AI agents that integrate with tools and data sources, and contribute to North, Cohere’s AI workspace platform.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with enterprise customers to convert ambiguous business challenges into well-defined agentic workflows with measurable success criteria
• Design, build, and deliver LLM-powered agents capable of reasoning, planning, and acting across tools, APIs, and enterprise data with enterprise-grade reliability
• Build and ship features for North across the full product lifecycle from conception to production
• Own use case scoping and design end-to-end, working across technical areas including frontend as needed to deliver effective solutions
• Develop shared frameworks and patterns to enable consistent, high-quality delivery across customers and teams
• Establish clarity in ambiguous situations, build team alignment, and raise engineering quality standards
• Travel up to 20–40% to work on-site with customers and partners

Must haves

• Hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade software in Python with clean, testable, observable, and scalable code
• Proven experience building and deploying highly performant RAG and agentic applications, including agents using patterns like ReAct or Plan-and-Execute
• Deep familiarity with the LLM stack including frontier models, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks
• Demonstrated ability to build robust evaluation frameworks for measuring agent accuracy, safety, and latency
• Experience working directly with customers and leading technical discussions with enterprise stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications
• Proven ability to own the full scope of a use case end-to-end

Nice to haves

• Experience setting architectural standards for AI and agentic systems across distributed teams
• Experience working in regulated or sensitive industry environments such as finance, healthcare, or telecommunications
• Experience with enterprise security, compliance, or auditability requirements for AI systems
• Ability to flex into unfamiliar technical areas when problems demand it
