Field Services Engineer

Job Summary

The Field Services Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing Pronto’s autonomous vehicle technology at various customer sites, ensuring optimal system performance and successful deployments.

Responsibilities

• Scope electrical and mechanical aspects of construction and mining equipment.
• Install Pronto hardware and software solutions on-site, including sensors, DBW kits, power integration, and vehicle interfaces.
• Set up peripheral hardware such as network stations, gate systems, and office infrastructure.
• Perform system calibrations and validation tests to meet operational standards.
• Work with Engineering and Customer teams to align deployments with specifications and best practices.
• Support R&D projects in collaboration with engineering.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and monitor equipment condition.
• Diagnose and repair hardware, software, and connectivity issues using diagnostic tools.
• Provide on-site customer support, including training and documentation of service activities.

Must haves

• Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in field service, automotive electronics, mechatronics, or similar technical support roles.
• Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and electrical testing tools.
• Strong understanding of vehicle systems including power, CAN bus, sensors, and ECUs.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Capable of working independently in field environments with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% to customer sites.
• Based in Arizona, Florida, Texas, or Wyoming.

Nice to haves

• Experience with autonomous vehicle systems, heavy equipment, machine control, robotics, or complex sensor integrations.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems and remote diagnostics.
• OSHA 10 or equivalent safety certification.

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of standing, bending, and working around vehicles for extended periods.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
