Environment Consultant /Sr. Consultant -Environment/ESDD Advisory

Job Summary

The Environment Consultant / Sr. Consultant will support or lead environmental and social impact assessment and due diligence services within WSP Earth and Environment in the Middle East, based in Jordan.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) projects, Lenders Technical Advisory – Environment, and ESIA compliance reviews.
• Assess Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and related risks in corporate mergers and acquisitions according to Lender standards.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders, providing support and guidance on key environmental and social aspects.
• Manage and author large-scale environmental projects such as EIA, SEA, CEMP, emergency response strategies, and pollution prevention frameworks.
• Apply a strong understanding of EIA processes, environmental assessment methods, and relevant planning legislation.
• Oversee preparation and technical review of EIA, ESIA, ESDD, and similar studies.
• Collaborate with design and planning teams to integrate environmental considerations.
• Manage project financial performance, meet profit targets, prepare and manage multidisciplinary tenders, and identify new business opportunities.

Requirements

• BSc and MSc degrees in relevant environmental or engineering disciplines.
• Membership in a relevant professional body such as IEMA, preferably with chartered status.
• Ability to work across multiple disciplines with a flexible approach.
• Experience providing technical alternatives and solutions for client technical clarifications and design.
• Strong skills in proofing, editing, and report collation.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Robust project, time, and financial management capabilities.
• Collaborative and outcome-driven working style.
