Duty Engineer

Job Summary

A Duty Engineer in the Facility Management Department at Abdali Hospital assists in operating and maintaining the hospital’s engineering systems. The role involves supporting senior engineers and technicians to ensure infrastructure components function safely and efficiently, with on-site presence to respond promptly to technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain hospital infrastructure systems including HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, medical gas systems, elevators and building management system (BMS)
• Receive, log, and prioritize maintenance service requests during shifts and coordinate with team members for timely resolution
• Conduct regular rounds to inspect equipment condition and operational status, reporting abnormalities to the supervisor
• Assist in identifying and resolving technical problems, performing basic repairs or escalating complex issues
• Maintain accurate shift logs documenting incidents, readings, completed tasks, and service records
• Follow all safety guidelines and hospital policies, promptly reporting unsafe conditions
• Respond to emergency situations such as power outages, equipment failures, or alarm activations following established protocols
• Communicate with team members and departments to ensure timely issue resolution and escalate critical incidents to the Facility Manager

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Engineering
• 0-2 years of experience (fresh graduate level)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of incident and accident reporting procedures
• Experience providing maintenance service in a busy organization
• Competencies in data entry, analysis, and management
• Organizational, time-management, computer and administrative skills
• Good knowledge of email etiquette
