Digital Tech Lead

Job Summary

The Digital Tech Lead at Hatch leads a small team of developers and data engineers, driving digital product development with strong front-end and back-end expertise and advanced AI-assisted workflows.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for a small group of contributors across multiple bespoke engagements.
• Provide mentorship, conduct code reviews, and guide architectural decisions to ensure high-quality solutions.
• Manage end-to-end delivery of projects, from requirements clarification to deployment.
• Utilize mature AI-assisted development techniques including prompt design, agent workflows, and multi-file refactoring.
• Work effectively within Agile teams and independently on smaller projects.
• Execute user stories, participate in sprint planning, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Contribute to design and architecture decisions for both front-end and back-end systems.
• Communicate risks, open issues, and trade-offs to stakeholders and stay updated on relevant technology and AI tools.

Must haves

• 8+ years of development experience across front-end and back-end technologies.
• Experience mentoring developers and acting as a technical reference for a small team.
• Expertise in C#/.NET (current LTS) and ASP.NET services.
• Strong skills in building GraphQL APIs and React (TypeScript).
• Experience with MongoDB and MongoDB Atlas deployments.
• Regular use of Azure DevOps and GitHub.
• Knowledge of design patterns and clean architecture.
• Proven use of AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code as a core part of daily work.
• Strong communication skills with global stakeholders.
• Experience with Agile and Kanban methodologies.
• Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Nice to haves

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services such as Storage Accounts, B2C, Key Vault, API Services, and Functions.
• Experience designing end-to-end solutions or products.
• Experience collaborating with data engineers and cross-disciplinary teams.
• Experience evaluating and recommending new development frameworks and technologies.
• Knowledge of software quality assurance methodologies.
• Ability to build consensus across teams.
