Civil Engineer – Design

Job Summary

Conduct design coordination, reviews, and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for civil and structural aspects of the Expo 2030 Riyadh project. Lead design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews of civil and structural components to ensure project requirements are met.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of civil and structural engineering work for multidisciplinary projects, including review of designs, layouts, details, drawings, and specifications for structures, buildings, and roadways
• Participate in design, development, and modification of civil and structural components using relevant procedures, design standards, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs), and Design Control Check Lists (DCCL)
• Coordinate work and collaborate with other engineering disciplines
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard civil and structural engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria with independent judgment
• Check structural engineering deliverables including steel and concrete calculations and specifications
• Analyze problems with conflicting design requirements and sketch possible solutions
• Assist in preparation of quantity take-offs for proposals, forecasts, and change orders
• Coordinate civil and structural engineering efforts with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, clients, vendors, contractors, and construction teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or international equivalent
• 5-8 years of relevant experience
• Experience delivering large urban infrastructure projects or large civil engineering projects and public realm works
• Demonstrated delivery experience in fast-paced environments with multiple interfaces
• Experience in KSA, Middle East, or GCC
• Good oral and written communication skills in English
• Arabic speaking is advantageous
