Job Summary

The Category Manager at Amazon Now in Riyadh is responsible for managing the performance of one or more product categories, focusing on selection, availability, and commercial priorities. The role involves data analysis, cross-team coordination, and executing category strategies in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Track daily category performance metrics such as GMS, units, availability, and SWOOS, identifying and analyzing any gaps.
  • Maintain and grow the in-stock product assortment by identifying missing ASINs and collaborating with Vendor Managers to speed up onboarding.
  • Assist in vendor negotiations and commercial terms under senior leadership guidance.
  • Perform regular competitive analysis against Ninja, Keeta, Noon, and Hungerstation to identify selection and availability gaps.
  • Prepare category inputs for commercial events including inventory needs, promotional plans, and readiness checklists.
  • Work with Replenishment and Inbound teams to resolve availability issues and meet in-stock targets.
  • Create and update category dashboards and performance reports for weekly and monthly business reviews.

Must haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in data analysis with the ability to interpret data to support decision-making.
  • Proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal, for effective stakeholder interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
  • At least 3 years of experience in category management, buying, retail merchandising, or related commercial roles.

Nice to haves

  • Experience working cross-functionally across multiple teams.
  • Background in e-commerce, FMCG, or grocery retail category management.
  • Familiarity with quick commerce or on-demand delivery business models.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel or SQL for data extraction and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of the Saudi or GCC retail market and consumer behavior.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
