Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Full-time on-site software engineer role focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining backend software solutions. You will work with the team on the complete software development lifecycle, from planning through deployment, while keeping current with software engineering trends.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications using Node.js, Python, or Go
• Utilize PostgreSQL and MongoDB to design and manage database structures, write optimized SQL queries, and ensure data consistency
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for server and client-side communication
• Write clean, maintainable code and conduct unit testing and code reviews
• Identify and resolve software bugs and performance bottlenecks
• Work collaboratively in an agile development environment with cross-functional teams
• Document code, processes, system architecture, and API documentation
• Stay updated on emerging trends, tools, and best practices in software development

Requirements

• Strong Computer Science and Software Development skills
• Experience in back-end web development and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Proficiency in Node.js, Python, or Go
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
• Experience with database management systems
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently
• Experience with Linux and bash scripts is a plus
• Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies is a plus
