Backend Developer Senior Specialist

Job Summary

A Backend Specialist role focused on designing, implementing, and optimizing robust backend services using .NET Core. The position involves building RESTful APIs, microservices, and database-driven features while integrating with internal and external systems in a high-availability, security-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance, secure RESTful APIs using C# .NET Core with modern design patterns
• Build microservices and reusable components to support business and platform needs
• Integrate backend systems with internal services, third-party platforms, and external APIs using API gateways, service buses, or messaging systems
• Develop and maintain relational databases, primarily Oracle, including complex queries, stored procedures, indexing, and optimization
• Implement secure authentication and authorization flows such as OAuth2, JWT, and SAML
• Develop and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and automated validation pipelines
• Monitor, debug, and optimize backend services for performance, reliability, and security
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications

Must haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in backend software development
• Strong command of .NET Core, API development, and object-oriented programming
• Proven experience with relational databases and data-driven applications
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications on Linux and Windows servers
• Proficiency in software principles such as SOLID and DRY

Nice to haves

• Knowledge and experience with legacy technologies including SOAP, web forms, and MVC for supporting and migrating older systems
• Familiarity with enterprise-level architectures
• Exposure to fintech or regulated industry standards including data protection and audit compliance
• Ability to mentor junior developers and handle complex integration projects independently
