ATC Wayside and Onboard Technician

Job Summary

Hitachi Rail seeks an ATC Wayside and Onboard Technician for the Riyadh Project. The role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance on ATC wayside and onboard equipment, conducting fault diagnostics, and ensuring compliance with maintenance procedures for railway signalling systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the ATC Supervisor in carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance activities on ATC wayside and onboard equipment
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections, inspect parts for defects, change consumable items, and perform minor repairs and technical cleaning
• Perform fault diagnostics and component replacement on the ATC system at site or in depot
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using a computerized maintenance management system
• Perform calibration of track circuits on the mainline and verify functioning of vital relays
• Implement Permit To Work and LOTO procedures before maintenance work
• Perform shift and emergency duties as required
• Uphold safety practices and implement continuous improvement in maintenance delivery

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in the railway industry
• Vocational trade certificate or diploma in electrical or electronics engineering discipline or equivalent
• Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment and safety procedures
• Ability to write simple technical reports and prepare method statements and drawings
• Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and ability to handle multiple priorities
• Ability to troubleshoot, maintain and repair rail equipment
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Experience with metro system maintenance and signalling equipment maintenance
• Prior experience in shunting and driving engineering vehicles or locomotives is an added advantage
• Awareness of interference and consequences of signalling system failures in metro operations
