Associate Director, Restructuring

Job Summary

Join Alvarez & Marsal’s Restructuring practice as an Associate Director to support underperforming companies and those facing liquidity crises. You will work directly with management and senior leadership to stabilize financial and operational performance across multiple client projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical support to companies experiencing underperformance or acute liquidity crises
• Work directly with company management to stabilize financial and operational performance
• Collaborate with Senior Directors and Managing Directors to deliver client projects through management of multiple work streams
• Support business development activities including creation of client pitches and proposals
• Lead financial and operational restructuring engagements
• Manage cash and liquidity forecasting, including 13-week cash flow models
• Conduct options analysis and contingency planning
• Prepare and validate business plans for clients

Requirements

• 7+ years’ experience in restructuring, preferably in the Middle East and including company side mandates across financial and operational workstreams
• Ability to manage diverse and complex stakeholder groups
• Ability to implement change and deliver results across various aspects of client businesses
• Strong financial modelling skills, including building 13-week cash flow forecasts and integrated financial models
• Firm understanding of liquidity and working capital management and how performance improvement flows through P&L and balance sheet
• Ability to build trusted, long-term relationships with key stakeholders in the Middle East lending community
• Ability to prepare client pitches and proposals to a high standard
• Proficiency in the use of AI tools to support analysis, drafting and research
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong facilitation and communication skills
• Unbiased, fact-based approach to problem solving guided by values and integrity
• Arabic fluency is desirable but not essential
• ACA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent qualification is desirable
