Appian Developer – UI & Data Fabric

Job Summary

This role involves developing user interfaces and the Data Fabric layer for Appian applications at a leading bank in Saudi Arabia, focusing on bilingual, accessible, and secure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Create responsive SAIL interfaces, portals, sites, and reusable UI components.
• Develop bilingual Arabic/English interfaces with right-to-left layouts and translation sets.
• Design record types, relationships, actions, and security within the Data Fabric.
• Integrate data from banking systems like core banking, CRM, and data warehouses using synced and non-synced record types.
• Build dashboards and reports for operational, management, and compliance purposes.
• Optimize interface and query performance through local variables, paging, sync strategies, and efficient queries.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG) and bank UX/branding guidelines.
• Implement data masking and row-level security aligned with PDPL for customer data protection.

Must haves

• Minimum 10 years total experience, including over 6 years of hands-on Appian development.
• Appian Certified Senior Developer certification is mandatory.
• Expertise in SAIL, interface design patterns, and Appian Portals/Sites.
• Strong skills in Appian Data Fabric including record types, sync, relationships, custom fields, and record-level security.
• Proficiency in data modeling and SQL including views, indexes, and stored procedures.
• Experience collaborating with UX/UI designers and strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Nice to haves

• Experience with Appian AI features such as AI Skills, document extraction, and AI Copilot.
• Knowledge of Appian Component Plug-ins using React/JavaScript.
• Familiarity with Figma design tool.
• Experience with customer-facing portals in the banking sector.
