Software Engineer II – Android

Job Summary

Join the Fulfillment team in Riyadh as an Android Engineer at HungerStation, part of Delivery Hero Group. You will develop high-quality Android applications, collaborate with product teams, and contribute to complex mobile solutions while maintaining engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

• Stay current with latest software development methodologies to deliver best-in-class solutions
• Analyze product requirements to understand engineering needs, evaluate technical feasibility, and estimate efforts in collaboration with the Product Team
• Build development components and manage programming of solution components to transform requirements into working software
• Write unit, integration, and UI/Snapshot tests to ensure code quality
• Investigate and resolve issues and bugs through patches and other means
• Conduct code reviews and collaborate with colleagues to deliver code review reports
• Perform functional and module testing to ensure solution functionality
• Monitor and evaluate product development, recommending improvements where necessary

Must haves

• 3+ years of experience developing software with practical knowledge of design patterns and algorithms
• Proficiency in native Android development with Kotlin as primary language or Java
• Hands-on experience writing high-quality, testable code with modern mobile architectures
• In-depth knowledge of mobile engineering lifecycle for fragments and activities, with practical Agile experience (SCRUM or Kanban)
• Practical knowledge of ViewModel, LiveData, Paging, Navigation, SafeArgs, Retrofit2, RxJava2, and Dagger2 for multi-module applications
• Understanding of Modular App Architecture and CI/CD pipelines

Nice to haves

• Knowledge of Firebase, Google Maps API, Fastlane scripting, and Checkout.com SDK
• Open-source contributions and technical publications
