Artificial Intelligence Research Associate

Job Summary

PEEX Health Solutions is seeking an AI Research Associate to lead research initiatives in healthcare and pharmacy operations. You will explore, research, and design conceptual AI architectures, data models, and analytical frameworks to address operational challenges in patient adherence, logistics, and delivery workflows.

Responsibilities

• Research AI systems, process architectures, and data frameworks to enhance pharmacy operations, patient adherence, logistics, and delivery workflows
• Design, document, and present conceptual prototypes, workflow models, and preliminary AI system architectures for healthcare domain requirements
• Collect reference data, analyze operational datasets, and establish data models for structured training and evaluation
• Prepare and deliver semi-annual research progress reports, quarterly technical memos, and monthly stakeholder review meetings
• Ensure all data models, training processes, and research inputs utilize fully de-identified and anonymized datasets in compliance with Canadian privacy standards (PIPEDA, PHIPA)
• Conduct state-of-the-art literature reviews and benchmark potential external AI models (LLMs, multimodal models, transcribing tools) for healthcare operational utility
• Translate complex operational problems into structured AI research frameworks and workflow diagrams
• Synthesize research into technical briefs and clear documentation for technical and non-technical healthcare stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related quantitative field
• 2+ years of experience conducting research in applied AI, machine learning, or data science
• 1+ years of work experience with AI for Research
• Foundational knowledge in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs), or Agentic AI systems
• Hands-on experience with Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
• Familiarity with data de-identification, anonymization techniques, and health data privacy standards (PHIPA, PIPEDA)
• Ability to translate complex operational problems into structured AI research frameworks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong project management capacity to deliver recurring reporting milestones on schedule
• Healthcare or pharmacy domain experience preferred
