Job Summary
An AI Expert providing advanced guidance and mentorship on complex artificial intelligence initiatives. The role connects AI domains across projects, keeps programs state-of-the-art, and aligns AI capabilities with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical advisory on complex AI problems, evaluate modeling approaches and architectures, and troubleshoot issues such as training instability and data leakage
- Review project plans and model designs for technical soundness
- Identify high-value opportunities for AI investment and assess emerging technologies to recommend strategic directions
- Collaborate across departments to avoid duplicated effort and share AI approaches
- Translate AI capabilities and limitations for executives and non-technical stakeholders
- Stay current with AI research, prototype novel ideas, and participate in external communities including conferences, publications, and open-source projects
Requirements
- Typically 5+ years of experience in AI/ML, or fewer years with significant high-impact contributions across multiple projects
- Portfolio demonstrating impact such as patents, publications, open-source contributions, or high-profile project outcomes
- External recognition through speaking engagements, standards or consortium participation, or similar indicators of recognized expertise
- Demonstrated experience coaching teams and institutionalizing best practices
