Job Summary

This role involves leading electrical assessments, solar PV system design, and energy audits for commercial and industrial sites in Jordan. The engineer will work both in technical simulations and on-site measurements to support clean energy and decarbonization projects.

Responsibilities

• Design complete solar PV systems including string sizing and yield simulations using PVsyst software.
• Create detailed single-line diagrams, layout drawings, equipment specifications, and bills of quantities.
• Ensure compliance of designs with local grid codes (EMRC, JEPCO, EDCO, IDECO) and IEC/NEC standards.
• Perform on-site walkthroughs and detailed energy audits following ASHRAE Level 2 or ISO 50002 frameworks.
• Use field instruments such as three-phase power quality analyzers, thermal imaging cameras, data loggers, and lux meters to measure facility energy consumption.
• Analyze energy data to calculate energy conservation measures and prepare technical audit reports including CAPEX, OPEX, and payback analysis.
• Inspect electrical infrastructure including main and sub-distribution boards, circuit breakers, cables, switchgear, earthing systems, lightning protection, and power quality.
• Identify electrical hazards, code violations, and operational issues, and develop remediation plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy/Electrical Engineering stream, or Power Engineering from an accredited university.
• Active registration with the Jordan Engineers Association (JEA) under the Electrical Engineering Division (شعبة الهندسة الكهربائية) is mandatory.
• 2 to 3+ years of engineering experience in solar PV design, electrical facility assessments, and energy auditing.
• Advanced skills in PVsyst including loss tree modeling, shading scenes, and meteorological data imports.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and electrical calculation spreadsheets.
• Familiarity with Jordanian electricity regulations, tariff structures including time-of-use, and net-metering/net-billing systems.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, both spoken and written, with ability to prepare clear technical reports.
• Valid Jordanian driving license and willingness to travel for site visits across Jordan.
