Sr. Cloud Application Architect, MENAT Professional Services Delivery

Job Summary

The Sr. Cloud Application Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS) Professional Services works closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS cloud solutions that align with their technical and business goals. This role involves providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the cloud adoption lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions customized to customer requirements.
• Offer technical guidance and troubleshooting support during project execution.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to collect requirements and develop migration strategies.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Lead implementation efforts ensuring best practices, performance optimization, and risk management.
• Mentor and train team members and create reusable knowledge artifacts.

Requirements

• Experience with full software development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations or debugging and profiling large-scale systems.
• Proven experience leading highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments.
• Track record of leading large-scale technical or engineering programs with successful outcomes.
• Experience leading software development organizations using a DevOps model.
• 5+ years working with Enterprise Application Modernization and Migration technologies such as Mainframe, Serverless, Containers, or Cloud Operations.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, container ecosystems, virtualization technologies (Hypervisors, VMware, Xen), and network protocols like DNS, DHCP, TCP.
• Experience deploying and managing Microsoft Windows Server or working with REST API services and Big Data architectures.
• Experience developing cloud-native CI/CD workflows and tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, AWS Code Deploy, or GitLab.
• Experience with GenAI including Foundation Model integration, RAG, Agent frameworks, and tool-calling for LLM-based applications.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
• Experience working with partners in account, product, program management, or business development.
• Previous roles as Software or Solution Architect, Lead Architect, or similar.
• Experience architecting, designing, and developing applications on AWS platform.
• Experience designing and modernizing applications using containers, serverless technologies, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience in legacy application assessment and decomposition.
• Experience in database modernization.
