DevOps Engineer (Contract)

Job Summary

The DevOps Engineer will manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, ensure platform reliability and observability, and develop resilient systems supporting data and application teams at Vytalize Health.

Responsibilities

• Design, provision, and operate AWS infrastructure with Terraform, including reusable modules and environment-specific setups
• Configure and secure AWS networking and security components such as VPCs, subnets, routing, NACLs, security groups, IAM roles, KMS keys, and secret management
• Implement and manage containerized services using Docker and AWS ECS/Fargate with pipelines, autoscaling, and deployment strategies
• Build and maintain serverless services on AWS Lambda and API Gateway with event-driven integrations
• Manage Databricks infrastructure on AWS including clusters, workspace, networking, and identity federation
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting in CloudWatch and integrate alerts with incident response channels
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions for infrastructure and applications
• Document architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures for releases, disaster recovery, and incident response

Requirements

• On-call experience and incident response skills including runbook creation and post-incident analysis
• Experience with policy-as-code and guardrails such as SCPs, IAM boundaries, OPA/Conftest
• Knowledge of secrets management tools like AWS Secrets Manager and SSM Parameter Store
• Experience with AWS EKS / Kubernetes deployment and operations
• Familiarity with cost optimization, tag policies, and FinOps practices
• Experience with federated identity and access management including OIDC, SAML, Entra ID, Cognito, and workload identity federation
• Databricks experience including clusters, jobs, permissions, and integration with networking and identity
• Experience with streaming and data pipelines using Kinesis, EventBridge Scheduler, or similar services
• Knowledge of compliance automation tooling and SOC2 evidence collection
• Exposure to AI agent frameworks or LLM-based tooling such as AWS Bedrock/AgentCore or LangChain and infrastructure for AI/ML workloads
